National Centre for the Laboratories National Network - Biology Area Graduated at Sapienza Univ. of Rome, Italy, 1994 (Biological Sciences), 110/11•••87-\'94, WWF-Italy Sea Turtle Project, by-catch & nesting monitoring throughout Southern Italy. 1989-’90, EIS, monitoring bioindicators on freshwaters. Till 1995, he worked within consulting companies, collaborating to international projects, bids, EIA, and working on monitoring bioindicators in Italy. 1995-’96, trained at the National Health Institute (ISS), on a study on river catchment quality. PhD (2004) at Siena Univ, was on the use of soil microarthropod fauna as bioindicator. he worked for ANPA, later called APAT, now ISPRA, where he dealt with monitoring and information systems on soil and contaminated sites. In as Technical Secretary of the Organising Committee, he worked on the International Environmental Indicators Conference, cancelled after 9/11/2001 events. He was also involved in the “Soil and Land” National Topic Centre. Since 2004, he established a “Soil Biomonitoring” Project Unit within the Inter-Agency “Protected Areas and Conservation of Environmental Diversity” Project (20••••05). Since 2007, he worked @ the Nature Defence Dept, Biodiversity Conservation Service, and from 2010 to 2017 was Head of the Bioindicators and Ecotoxicology Sector in ISPRA. He is at present working in the Soil and Land Ecology Laboratory of the National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research. He is also: confirmed National Reference Centre on Soil Biodiversity for the European Information & Observation Network (EIONET); member of the European Commission (JRC) WG on Soil Biodiversity, and is collaborating with several national research lines, the most recent on Land Degradation Neutrality for the Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea Protection. Lecturer in several University and Technical-Scientific Courses, recently published mainly on soil biomonitoring. Member of IUSS, AMB-GMEM, & SISS. Member of the Scientific-technical Committee of GRE -\"Gruppi di Ricerca Ecologica\", Ecological Research Groups, National Onlus of Ecological Research.
