Events Manager at Mission Australia’s WA State Office: I lead the planning and delivery of one of the nation’s most cherished community events — Christmas Lunch in the Park (CLIP) — alongside a range of other meaningful initiatives throughout the year.Now marking its 50th year, CLIP stands as Australia\'s longest-running and largest community-funded Christmas event, created to support those doing it toughest. Held in the heart of East Perth at Moort-ak Waadiny / Wellington Square, the event offers not just a beautifully prepared three-course Christmas meal to over 1,650 guests, but a true sense of celebration, compassion, and community.My role encompasses everything from big-picture planning to ground-level coordination. Together with an exceptional team of over 300 volunteers, 30+ support roles, generous sponsors, and community partners, we build a welcoming space filled with hope. Beyond the meal, CLIP features a dedicated Wellness Zone — a hub for practical care and dignity — providing services such as hot showers (Brollie Brigade), laundry (Orange Sky), donated clothing, haircuts (Short Back and Sidewalks), counselling access, and more.For the families attending, there’s face painting, live music, kids’ games, and an annual colouring competition. Every child receives a gift from Santa, and adults are handed a Care Pack filled with essentials.
