ABOUT CAMILA ACEITUNO

Camila Aceituno is a sophomore at Florida State University pursuing a BS in Human Development and Family Sciences with a concentration in Psychology, and a BA in Community Music. She is extremely passionate about understanding how people grow and thrive, especially in family and developmental contexts, and how that knowledge translates into meaningful experiences and opportunities. Her interdisciplinary studies allow her to explore both the science of human development and the power of music as a tool for connection, expression, and wellbeing. Through the Community Music Program, she is expanding her training in using music as a means of community engagement and social impact.She brings three years of experience in the field of education from interning with Breakthrough Miami as an Americorps member, where she served as a teacher and social emotional wellness coach for underrepresented middle school students. In this role, she supported the academic growth of her students while fostering emotional resilience and confidence. She is currently expanding her skills in research and is eager to start gaining hands-on clinical experience in psychology to complement her academic background in the field. While continuing to grow as an emerging professional, she is always eager to connect with like-minded peers and mentors who are passionate about psychology, community engagement, and making a positive impact on people’s lives.
