ABOUT CALVIN TRUONG

Hello everyone! My name is Calvin Truong and I\'m a third-year at the University of California-Riverside, studying Media and Cultural Studies. My personal mission statement is divided into two \"Steps for Success,\" step one, take the world in your hands, and step two, start to see the stars that form around it.As a kid who would read and draw while the world around me played games on the playground, I often took a swing at crafting my own stories and pictures. I found it difficult to make my words and visuals hold meaning, sure, I could spew out pages of nonsense and graphic after graphic, but how do I give them a voice? I found that to arrange letters and shapes and phrase them in a way that moved mountains, I would first have to conquer some of my own. Now that I\'m in that stage of my life where the process of conquering is my current arena, I find that I like to tackle a project by perceiving the cosmos around me in shiny hues and figures, and taking them at face value. I let my inspiration come to me through living life to the fullest, and cherishing every moment, whether I conquer it, or whether it attempts, and fails, to dim my starlight.
