Leading a diverse board of Edmonton tennis community members to promote tennis as an inclusive sport in Edmonton for people of all ages, skills, and backgrounds. • Organize and host social events for Tennis Edmonton Meetup\'s over 1200 players, with the goal of introducing them to the club experience so they can discover their tennis community. • Promote development of additional local tennis infrastructure and clubs, including additional outdoor and indoor facilities. • Provide touchtennis opportunities so more Edmontonians can enjoy wintertime tennis. • Work with Tennis Alberta to represent and promote Edmonton\'s seven tennis clubs and the greater tennis community at the local and provincial level.

ABOUT BRYCE NELSON

I\'m a Chemical Engineering EIT and Oncology PhD Candidate working at Edmonton\'s Medical Isotope and Cyclotron Facility, which produces radioactive isotopes used for cancer diagnosis and therapy. My work spans cyclotron targetry design and manufacture, separation chemistry and purification, process automation, radiochemistry for production of radiopharmaceuticals, and the subsequent application to preclinical cancer models. My colleagues would describe me as a proactive and highly motivated individual who takes the initiative on solving challenging problems. Outside of work, I enjoy applying my knowledge through leadership and volunteer contributions to organizations active in community sports, healthcare, and academia. Highlights and accomplishments include- BSc. Chemical Engineering with Distinction (2020), University of Alberta- PhD Candidate in Oncology (2020-present), University of Alberta- First author of 7 published peer-reviewed papers, co-author of an encyclopedia chapter- Patent pending cyclotron target design for producing medical radionuclides- Recipient of 31 competitive awards and scholarships throughout undergraduate and graduate studies- 16 refereed abstracts and presentations at international conferences- Project member for Production of Cyclotron-Based Gallium-68 Radioisotope and Related Radiopharmaceuticals, International Atomic Energy Agency- Heavily involved in leadership and volunteer roles in academic, healthcare, and local sport organizations (Tennis Edmonton, Edmonton Junior Tennis Society, Blue Quill Community League, Cross Cancer Institute Volunteer Association, Grandview Capital Care, University of Alberta Oncology Graduate Students\' Association).
