I work in the Belfast office litigation department at Worthingtons, specialising in judicial review litigation and disputes involving public law and human rights issues in a wide range of areas, with particular interests in educational law and in immigration casework. I have extensive experience of all aspects of special educational needs law, policy and practice in Northern Ireland, including in pursuing appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, and in pursuing applications for judicial review on behalf of children in the High Court.I also have considerable experience in immigration casework and I advise clients on the full range of immigration applications (including on applications for entry clearance, permission to stay in the UK, citizenship, and asylum/humanitarian protection). I also represent clients in appeals to the Immigration Tribunal and in judicial reviews. I am a member of the Law Society\'s Immigration Practitioners\' Group, and I currently sit as their representative on the Judicial Review Liaison Committee - a group made up of practitioners that holds quarterly meetings chaired by the judicial review judges, to discuss and to decide upon matters of procedure and practice in judicial review litigation. I also act for companies and individuals in defending prosecutions for health and safety offences, trading standards breaches, environmental crime, and I have been involved in a range of cases involving disciplinary/fitness to practise proceedings brought against individuals by their professional bodies.
