Spearhead unit strategy for international capacity-building activities with the Iraqi Institute for the Conservation of Antiquities and Heritage, and additional on-site training efforts in Iraq- Execute seven projects in the unit (over $2.2 million external) as Principal Investigator (PI)/ co-PI; team-lead four projects (over $1 million) in other offices- Coordinate ad hoc Smithsonian ‘Iraq Team,’ including partners from Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative and the Office of International Relations- Lead security management planning activities and serve as Incident Response Manager- Manage a dozen external consultants and interns in program activities- Establish and manage relationships with key multilateral and bilateral partners/donors related to cultural heritage protection- Oversee capture strategy and maintain up-to-date knowledge of international development donor organization priorities related to the Smithsonian’s cultural heritage protection program, with a focus on Iraq and the Middle East / North Africa Region- Create and teach programming for US law enforcement agencies on antiquities anti-trafficking.
