ABOUT BRIAN CARDOZA

Ever since I began my career with Hilton, I knew hospitality is something I wanted to for my future. Seeing the joy on guests face when we are able to make their time with us enjoyable is the best feeling in my opinion. I started out as a PBX agent answering phone calls for my property. Little by little I have been moving up within y property and company. Hilton has offered me amazing opportunities in advancing my career.Managers cannot do it alone. A strong willing team is always needed to support their manager. The leadership style i find most supporting of this is a mixture of democratic and collaborative leadership. As I said before, a manager is nothing without the support of their employees. Kindness, honesty, and teamwork are words I have learned to be apart of. They are characteristics I try to instill on those around me. I always make sure to communicate with my team on their performances. It is always imperative to offer feedback in a timely manner as well as regularly. Management, leadership, and mentoring bring together communication, confidence, and knowledge. I believe in order to be a successful manager one must possess and understand these characteristics and qulities.After working for Hilton, that is when I came to the decision to study hospitality full time at Florida International University. I am enjoying every minute of my program. When it comes to my future endeavors, I wish to advance further within the company and in due time possibly own a property myself.
