The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.Legislative and Policy AdvocacyMonitor, analyze, and report on state and federal legislation impacting the County.Develop and recommend strategies to advance the County\'s legislative priorities.Assist in coordinating the County’s lobbying efforts and preparing legislative briefing materials.Stakeholder EngagementServe as a liaison between County leadership, elected officials, and external stakeholders.Build and maintain relationships with legislators, government agencies, and community organizations.Supports Director with development of County’s strategic plan.Represent the County at legislative hearings, meetings, and conferences as needed.Communications and Public InformationCollaborate with Communications staff to develop messaging strategies related to legislative and policy initiatives.Provide support for public information efforts, ensuring consistent and transparent communication.Assist in managing responses to public records requests in compliance with state laws.Operational ManagementSupervise and mentor Legislative Aide(s), ensuring alignment with County objectives and professional development.Develop and track performance metrics related to government relations and communications functions.Administrative SupportAssist the Director in preparing budgets, reports, and presentations.Coordinate interdepartmental efforts to align government relations priorities with County goals.
