I developed the application of systems thinking for Mott MacDonald on projects ranging from London\'s Integrated Water Management Strategy, the Anglian SRO reservoirs, Nuclear decommissioning and clean-up, climate adaptation for TfL and Heathrow and education in Sierra Leone.

ABOUT BRENDAN BROMWICH
I lead the systems thinking discipline at Mott MacDonald supporting practical application of systems thinking. I work out how we can join things up and bridge siloes across infrastructure, environment, social, finance and. everything else that matters. In water and environment I work on integrated water management with recent projects including new strategies in London, for the river Wye and on how to create cascading social and environmental benefits in the Fens alongside the proposed new reservoirs. I\'m interested in how multi-sector planning can be improved and work on this for regional groups including a review for the refresh of the national framework for water resources for the Environment Agency and similar contributions for RAPID. Water governance is a theme from earlier roles including coordinating the Food Water group at King\'s College London and coordinating UN Environment Programmes work in Sudan which wove together different themes in environmental governance (forestry, water, rangeland etc) with the wider UN peacebuilding and reconstruction programme.Beyond water, recent work includes applying systems methods to climate interdependencies for TfL and Heathrow, nuclear decommissioning, and education.I\'ve worked in a number of different fields, since starting my career with Mott MacDonald in civil engineering in the UK, middle east and Asia. I spent 9 years in Sudan for the UN and Tearfund where I worked on local and regional peace-building and environmental initiatives, leading with UN\'s largest environmental response to conflict. On return to the UK, I did a PhD in environmental governance. I worked coordinated the food water group at King\'s College London under Prof Tony Allan\'s leadership.
