ABOUT BRAYAN Y. VEGA CASTRO

Welcome to my profile!I am a highly motivated person with a passion for problem-solving and teamwork. I am currently awarded with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico with a minor concentration in Aerospace Sciences & Engineering and Pharmaceutical Engineering. Currently I am a Quality Engineer in the Quality Engineering Development (QED) Program at Pratt & Whitney!I\'ve been certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt which has equipped me with valuable tools and techniques for process improvement and data analysis. Additionally, I have completed Safety and Chemical Engineering Education (SAChE) Level 1 certification.My work and research experience includes being an Operational Excellence Co-Op at Johnson and Johnson Visions, where I played an integral role in implementing a project that lowered equipment downtime and increased units per shift (UPS). I I also generated and executed validation protocols and reports for equipment validation and qualification in cleanroom areas, and managed cleanroom qualification and environmental management reclassification. I have also served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Center for Pharmaceutical Engineering Development and Learning (C-PEDaL), where I worked on In-Line Monitoring of Powder Blend Uniformity in a Sampler Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS). My responsibilities included conducting powder mixture analysis, evaluating calibration and validation blends, performing Chemometric Analysis and powder segregation through die filling. In my extracurricular activities, I was a member of the Alpha Astrum Propellant Systems Department, Pressure Feed Division, where I contributed to the development of the first bi-propellant gaseous fuel rocket engine in Puerto Rico. I have also served as Co-Leader of the Chemical Engineering division of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Search & Rescue team, where I worked on improving the quality of emergency response through the design of an aircraft capable of enduring self-piloted travel for search and rescue missions. In addition, I was part of the University of Puerto Rico Judo Team.I am eager to bring my activeness, curiosity, problem-solving ideas, open communication, and creative thinking, to achieve outstanding results.
