ABOUT BRANDON DEPENBUSCH

My edge occurs where my ability to relate one-on-one with my team and my intrinsic desire for competition and achievement meet. My edge is supported by my focused, deliberate, and analytical mindset.My focus is on creating value and providing organizational efficiency to the world around me while impacting as many people as I can in the process. I\'m at my best when I\'m helping my team develop their capacity and when building processes to improve our business performance.My career and mindset changed after embracing Simon Sinek’s book “Start with Why”. My “why” is helping my team achieve their personal and professional goals. If they achieve their goals and are successful, then inevitably I will be successful too, because “a rising tide lifts all boats”. I’m trained as a research scientist and ruminant nutritionist. Even though I never was a practicing nutritionist, I use many of the skills that I learned in graduate school every day. First and foremost, I was trained to be curious and how to accumulate, organize, analyze, and present data. These skills allow me to turn information into knowledge which is used to make business decisions. I take specific pride in the last step of presenting the information to my audience. Regardless if the audience is a single person or a thousand people, it does no good if you can’t relate to the audience and clearly and concisely communicate the message.I’ve combined these skills with my inherent desire for continuous improvement and deeply held belief in the saying that “if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it”. Dashboards and reports focused on lead measures drive performance and profitability.Nothing is more satisfying than being a mentor and coach. It is so rewarding to see my team grow their capacity. Being a Co-Founder of U.S. CattleTrace has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Watching U.S. CattleTrace grow and mature from an idea to a pilot project, and then into a national movement has taught me many things about being an Entrepreneur. Passion, purpose, persistence, and patience are the fuel that powers the Entrepreneur.
