We established the first data science major at the United States Air Force Academy. The effort was remarkable in terms of the support from AF organizations and other academic departments. The first class of data science majors graduated in 2023. We are also making our core math more data-centric. We are continuing to build and refine the program but it is off to a great start. It has been such a rewarding experience.

I am an educator and analyst with a passion for computationally-intensive methods. I have taught courses on machine learning and data visualizations for years. I am currently interested in cloud based resources and models that can be used on the cloud. This includes Bayesian belief networks and deep learning. I am proficient in many programming languages and currently use R and Python for most of my work.
