Birgit Bauer works on digital health, health communication and health data literacy at the intersection of patients, citizens, policy and healthcare systems.She is the founder of Data Saves Lives Germany and edha gGmbH (European Digital Health Academy), focusing on the responsible use of health data and on strengthening public understanding of digital health and data-driven decision-making.Birgit advises organisations, public authorities and networks on strategic health communication, engagement and literacy in digital transformation contexts, working at national and international level. Her work centres on translating complex health and data topics into meaningful, usable knowledge. She also contributes to panels, discussions and online sessions on digital health, health data and literacy.She contributes to both patient and scientific advisory boards, supporting exchange across disciplines and perspectives.Alongside her professional expertise, she draws on lived experience as a patient, informing her work on patient-centred digital health and health data communication.Birgit is a Sciana Fellow – Sciana – The Health Leaders Network and a member of the OECD DFFT Expert Community.
