WORK HISTORY
Chief Architect @Agora
At Agora, I work at the intersection of real-time communications and conversational AI, building production systems where low latency, reliability, and user experience are mission-critical. My work spans Agora’s RTC and conversational AI stack, including media pipelines, telephony integration, LLM orchestration, and customer-facing implementation. I work closely with enterprise customers across healthcare, fitness, education, and social platforms, leading implementation sprints and taking solutions from prototype to scaled deployment. I also author engineering guides adopted across distributed repos and maintain a public demo portfolio showcasing our work.

ABOUT BEN WEEKES
Working at the intersection of real-time communications and conversational AI, I build production systems where low latency, reliability, and user experience are mission-critical. My work spans media pipelines, telephony integration, LLM orchestration across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini, and avatar systems. I work across the full stack in C++, Python, and TypeScript, while also partnering closely with enterprise customers across healthcare, fitness, education, and social platforms — leading onsite implementation sprints and owning delivery from prototype to scale. Before this, I co-founded Requestec, later acquired by Blackboard in 2014, and went on to serve as Chief Architect for Blackboard Collaborate, a platform used by millions of students worldwide. I co-hosted an AI hackathon in London with OpenAI in November 2024, placed 3rd in the ElevenLabs Global Hackathon 2025, and finished 3rd out of 64 teams at the Claude Hackathon at Imperial College London in March 2026. I also mentor at voice AI developer events, author engineering guides adopted across distributed repos, and maintain a public demo portfolio at convoai-demo.agora.io. I’m most energised by hard engineering problems — the kind that require systematic thinking, technical depth, and persistence to close the gap between prototype and production.
