ABOUT BEN THOMAS

As Director of Citizens Advice Milton Keynes, I am exceptionally proud to be leading the charity through a period of great change. I\'ve been working here for several years, but I never fail to be excited, enthused and engaged by the opportunity to work with our committed volunteers, staff and trustees. It is with their help that we strive to develop new projects and services that reach more local people and complement our traditional,and trusted, face to face advice and support. We are not an ‘obvious’ charity, indeed two thirds of our clients don’t realise that until they begin using the service. Since 1972 we have been the leading provider of advice, information and counsel to the public, within the Borough of Milton Keynes. We are proud to have developed with the city as it has established itself as one of the fastest growing areas of the UK. Last year almost local people needed our help and used our free, confidential services across a network of community locations. My continuing priority is to develop a more sustainable model, for an organisation which has been heavily reliant on statutory funding for the last 15 years.
