ABOUT BEN KAPLAN
Owner, iRun magazine, in charge of sales, editorial and operations of the country\'s largest health and wellness platform and frequent contributor to the Globe & Mail. At iRun, through overseeing the merger of two of Canada\'s busiest running websites, responsible for revenue, margins and web traffic, costs and circulation. In addition, founding editor of kind magazine, Canada\'s fastest growing print publication distributed at licensed retail cannabis locations, plus former New York-based editor at GQ and New York magazines. Twice published book author - a third on its way - with bylines in Men’s Journal, Toronto Life, Forbes, Cosmopolitan and the New York Times. In June, 2013, I was a founding editor of EachCoach.com, a running community developed with the National Post’s new media business arm: Postmedia Labs. Up to 3,500 members with 25% weekly engagement, I managed, measured and generated sales for a social network that subverts the editorial mission with a new technology twist: we didn’t tell readers stories, we published the stories they told us (and fostered a loyal, data-driven network that created unique advertiser appeal). A father of two, I\'m a marathon runner, public speaker, run coach and frequent guest on the Canadian television networks. I like telling stories and finding innovative ways to brand stories reach the maximum number of people. In 2023, I became the owner of iRun magazine, Canada\'s leading running publication, which merged in 2018 with Sportstats, the largest race timing company in North America. I write magazine and newspaper stories, am working on a new book, and help brands with their corporate communications.
