ABOUT BEATRICE HOWARD

As the spokesmodel for the Companion Animal Protection Society, I do outreach to educate the public about the great work being done by CAPS on behalf of pet shop and puppy mill dogs. I was only four months old when CAPS investigators saved me from a horrible place in South Dakota back in 2003. The USDA-licensed puppy mill bred Basset Hounds like me for the pet shop industry. I\'m part of CAPS\' ad campaign \"Models Against Pet Shops and Puppy Mills.\" I appear in print ads and in a PSA called \"This is the Face of a Puppy Mill Dog\" with beautiful model Kiley Wirtz Jennings, who contacted CAPS after seeing the disturbing documentary \"CAPS vs Bauck, How a Small Nonprofit Brought Down a Large Puppy Mill.\" Seven other beautiful models are also part of this campaign, along with CAPS Canine Donation Specialist Spencer, a rescued Australian Cattle Dog mix, and other dogs from Moka\'s Dog Rescue and City Pet Rescue in Texas (we did the photo shoot and filming in Fort Worth). I’ve been in magazine ads, on billboards and commuter train ads - Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North, New Jersey Transit Authority Metra (Chicago) and MBTA (Boston). My PSA has aired on PBS stations, Animal Planet in New York City, Food Network, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel, HGTV, Logo, Cloo, Universal HD, USA Network, Sundance Channel, National Geographic Channel, National Geographic WILD, and on stations in Sarasota, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Numerous newspapers (including “The Boston Globe” Sunday issue), magazine articles, and online publications have featured me, the models, and CAPS. Mother (CAPS President Deborah Howard) was a “Hero Among Us” on People.com, but of course, I was in the photos and given a big mention in the article. My biggest wish is that CAPS’ ad campaign continues getting the attention it deserves. Please help ensure my goals come true by sharing CAPS’ PSA and donating to our cause. After all, we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for your support!
