ABOUT BAYLA SHESHADRI
Incoming J.D. Candidate at UC Berkeley School of Law and a recent alumna of Wake Forest University (‘25). I am extremely passionate about advocacy and uplifting others. While spending a semester in Washington, D.C. via the Wake Washington Program, I was a legislative intern for Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12). This role solidified my interest in public advocacy, policy, and law. This past Fall, I worked for the NC Democratic Party as an organizing fellow. In this role, I mobilize voters in both local and national elections (specifically for Kamala Harris for President). I further work as a social media/marketing manager for Triangle Physicians for Women, a local OBGYN practice. Here, I modify their traditional branding package so communicate new technologies to potential consumers. Last Summer, I worked as a research assistant in the Wake Forest School of Law. This research specifically focuses on the intersection of race, pop-culture, and the law. Through my Anthropology major (B.A.) I am conducting research evaluating opportunities to improve accessibility on Wake Forest’s campus. Utilizing ethnographic research methods, my research focuses on analyzing the experiences of students with disabilities at Wake Forest. At Wake Forest, I was involved in a variety of activities all centered around improving Wake Forest’s campus culture for future students and uplifting current student voices. Through my position as Student Government Secretary, I acted as a liaison and communicator between the student body and University officials. My work as VP of Engagement and Recruitment through Ambassadors in Admissions allowed me to spread Wake Forest’s mission of Pro Humanitate to potential new students. As an active member of the Student Advising Leadership Council, I collaborated with the Office of Academic Advising to create programming and provide resources that aid in academic success for Wake Forest Students. These were just a few of my extensive involvements both at Wake Forest and in the larger community. I hope to continue my hard work and passion for advocacy through my future career and educational ventures.
