ABOUT BARBARA TINT

I work globally, training and facilitating groups in a wide range of topics such transition and change, conflict resolution, creative collaboration, dialogue across differences, intercultural relations, power dynamics, leadership, psychological safety, gender relations and resilience. Fundamentally, we will co-create the program that best suits your needs. I am a dynamic facilitator, using a range of modalities, so that participants are engaging in experiential learning in the moment. I work in both private and public organizations, the humanitarian sector, educational contexts, medical arenas, governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations. I work both in person and remotely, bringing these dynamic methods to the on-line space. As an award winning storyteller, I believe in the power of stories in our personal lives and in our work. I host storytelling events, coach storytellers, train organizational groups in the power of story for change, influence and collaboration. Everyone has stories and they are what can unite us. I am a trained improviser and the Past President of the Global Applied Improvisation Network. I use the principles. mindsets and methods of improvisation in my training, facilitation and consultation work. You don\'t always know when I\'m doing that, and you will wonder about the magic you experience-)I have lived and worked in multiple countries outside of my US roots, including Australia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, France, India, Ireland, Israel/Palestine, Mexico, Rwanda, and Sri Lanka. I have worked with various cultural groups within the US and abroad, and have been engaged in DEIB work for 35 years. Efforts and intentions around inclusion and belonging are ongoing, necessary and integral dimensions of a thriving organization.I have been a University Professor since based at Portland State University and at multiple Universities worldwide. I have written and published on a wide range of topics. Our book, Diasporas in Dialogue: Conflict Transformation and Reconciliation in Worldwide Refugee Communities (Wiley-Blackwell), recounts our 5 year project conducting dialogue and capacity building efforts in historically conflicted refugee communities.
