At IBM, I am a member of the IBM Z Mainframe Dynamic Partition Manager (DPM) team. IBM DPM is used to manage the partitioning and setup of z Systems know. DPM is aimed at allowing non-mainframe-centric system administrators to easily manage a LinuxOne system or Z-Systems running Linux-only workloads, without having to learn about defining Logical Partitions (LPAR), using the traditional methods. For example, this eliminates the need to use z/OS to configure the Input-Output Control Data Sets or to set up profiles on the Hardware Management Console (HMC). The stack: HTML, CSS, Javascript, React.js, Redux, Redux Toolkit (RTK), Vue.js, VueX & IBM Carbon My job as a staff frontend engineer involves: Reviewing all teams frontend code changes and ensuring the quality and the clean-coding aspect Designing Frontend Architecture Designing and implementing React.js & Vue.js Frameworks, Sophisticated components and APIs Designing and developing web frameworks for IBM internal usage Unit and E2E tests Application performance optimization Applying user tests on high-quality developed prototypes Collaborating with the UX team for understanding and refining the UI visual design and the user experience of the features built Ensuring user interfaces are accessible My job as an iteration manager (IM/SM) involves: Ensuring that our team is following the best scrum practices that allow us to have healthy sprint cycles and deliver on time Clearing the obstacles and protecting the team from outside interruptions to make sure that the team is focused on finishing the sprint Continuous discussions with the product owner and the other scrum masters in the scrum-of-scrum meetings to ensure that we iterate and improve Presenting the team in the sprint retrospective, planning and scrum of scrum meetings Planning the next releases with the squad leads, project managers and senior technical staff members
