Gold Brothers is a family business that’s fast approaching a 40 year history. Its origins were in ladies and gents fashion with a small wholesale business that then expanded into clothing items for the visitor market in Scotland. This further diversified into souvenir and other visitor merchandise in Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, along with the beginnings of a visitor product wholesale business. Building on growing success, the company has flourished to now have the largest retail presence on Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile with 19 shops. The Edinburgh portfolio now includes the Tartan Weaving Mill, which is the largest retail space on the globally known ‘Royal Mile’ and sits at the entrance to the world famous Edinburgh Castle.The Tartan Weaving Mill includes within it the region\'s only fully working commercial tartan weavers, which has been enhanced to include a ‘Visitor Experience’ with viewing of the weavers at work. It also has arguably the best retail offering of cashmere, lambswool and other Scottish woollens anywhere in Scotland.In addition, the ‘Castlehill Whisky Shop’ has recently been launched within the Tartan Weaving Mill site. Castlehill Whisky Shop specialises in Old & Rare Scotch whiskies, along with the largest retail offering of whiskies on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.Sitting alongside a growing number of retail stores, the company has developed a fully integrated and substantial online business, with its own warehouse and other distribution centres. The highly successful online business with multiple uniquely branded online outlets has a significant global reach.
