ABOUT BAHAR GHOLAMI
With a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Biotechnology), I entered the biotech industry with a clear goal: to contribute to the design and optimization of bioprocesses. My academic work in regenerative medicine and cosmeceutical formulation provided a strong scientific foundation, but I wanted to understand how those concepts translate into real manufacturing environments. To build that bridge, I pursued hands-on experience in cGMP manufacturing. At Microbix Biosystems, I gained practical exposure to upstream and downstream operations including bioreactor culture, extraction, chromatography, and filtration—particularly tangential flow filtration (TFF). This experience allowed me to connect theoretical knowledge with real production challenges and understand how robust processes are executed and controlled at scale.Beyond executing SOP-driven manufacturing, I became deeply interested in the reasoning behind each process step. My focus has been not only on delivering high-quality products in compliance with GMP and EHS standards, but also on understanding why processes are designed the way they are—analyzing results, troubleshooting challenges, and identifying opportunities for improvement.Today, I am particularly interested in Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) and Process Development, where scientific understanding, manufacturing experience, and curiosity about process optimization come together to improve biopharmaceutical production.Focus areas:Bioprocess Development | cGMP Manufacturing | MSAT | Process Scale-Up | Technology Transfer | Bioreactors | Chromatography | Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF)| Process Optimization | Downstream ProcessingIf you’re working in bioprocess development, MSAT, or biotech manufacturing and see opportunities where my background could contribute, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to connect and discuss new ideas and collaborations.
