Badass with a Bad Ass began in 2020 as a social media community for people living with Crohn’s Disease who felt isolated in their diagnosis. What started as connection has evolved into something much larger: a platform translating lived patient experience into strategic insight for the healthcare industry.I have lived with Crohn’s Disease for over 20 years. During that time, I have navigated complex treatment decisions, surgical complications, workplace accommodations, and the invisible logistics of chronic illness management. That experience, paired with my background in Global Supply Chain Management and time in the corporate medical device space, allows me to bridge two worlds: patients and industry.This year, I had the opportunity to speak at four pharmaceutical events, sharing not only my personal story, but also my perspective on the structural gaps in IBD care. Engaging directly with the teams developing treatments and patient engagement strategies reinforced what I believe strongly:Clinical outcomes are only part of the equation. Functional dignity, quality-of-life design, and real-world usability determine long-term patient trust and adherence.Today, I work with pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations as a patient experience consultant and speaker. I help teams:• Identify gaps between clinical intent and real-world patient function• Integrate lived experience into product and education strategy• Strengthen patient-centered messaging• Understand the operational realities of chronic illness in the workplaceIn addition to industry consulting, I am passionate about supporting patients navigating the reasonable accommodation process in corporate environments. Having gone through it multiple times myself, I understand the gap between policy and practice — and the opportunity to improve it.The future of patient-centered care requires more than representation.
