ABOUT CHRIS JOHNSON

Chris has over 15 years of experience founding, commercializing, and leading technology-enabled ventures for U.S. and international businesses. He has built and rolled out Software-as-a-Service, Product-as-a-Service, and e-commerce solutions for numerous industries, including commercial real estate, retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, high-traffic, and higher education.Throughout his career, Chris has had executive leadership responsibilities for sales, strategy, customer success, marketing, product, and operations teams. He has also built start-ups, scale-ups, and technology divisions for the 2nd largest privately held company in the U.S. Most recently, Chris established Disruptive Technologies U.S. headquarters. He built and grew sales, customer success, and operations teams. Chris also worked with his Norwegian colleagues to commercialize two new wireless sensing solutions for cold chain monitoring and office space optimization. Under his leadership, the U.S. business achieved a 10X increase in QoQ revenue and landed the company\'s first seven-figure enterprise deals. Market leaders that adopted the platform include Walmart, Google, and Dollar Tree. Mirroring the business\'s commercial success, the operations team achieved a sensor deployment run rate of over sensors in hundreds of buildings per quarter. Before his time at Disruptive Technologies, Chris held leadership roles in Georgia-Pacific\'s $3B Professional Division. While at Georgia-Pacific, he brought the business\' Smart Restroom Solution, which included sensor-enabled restroom dispensers, wireless communication protocols, and mobile and desktop applications, from concept to commercialization. Chris engaged teams of experts in information technology, analytics, operations, marketing, engineering, and program assessment to develop the solution. After gaining traction in the market, Chris built a national sales force of over 100 sellers - including specialty and field sellers - and hundreds of distributor sales representatives. Marquee customers that adopted the platform include Sofi Stadium, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, and Brown University.Chris conceived of, pitched, and founded a new sourcing channel for Better World Books, a fast-growing e-commerce bookseller. After establishing this new venture, he led the company\'s sales team and developed two additional business lines that helped the business grow from $15M to $64M in annual revenue. Better World Books, a for-profit corporation with a social mission, has raised $35M for literacy organizations.
