ABOUT ASSER KHATTAB
I’m a French-Syrian writer, journalist, and communications specialist with a decade of experience in international media and advocacy. From 2015 to 2020, I reported on the war in Syria and regional dynamics in Lebanon and Iraq, working for global outlets including The Washington Post, Financial Times, and the Spanish news agency (EFE). Since 2021, I’ve worked with human rights organizations to shape their communications strategies, drawing on my background in journalism. After serving as Research and Communications Officer at the International Commission of Jurists, I joined the Clooney Foundation for Justice in August 2022, where I currently work as a Senior Communications Manager. I continue to publish essays and opinion pieces in international media, including in FT Weekend, The Washington Post, and New Lines Magazine.
