ABOUT ASKARI ZAIDI

I am a Corporate Communication/ affairs and Brand consultant. After having worked with leading media organisations such as The Times of India, Indian Express and Hindustan Times in various senior editorial positions for over two decades in Delhi and Mumbai, I switched to Corporate functions to manage brand building and promotional requirements of large corporate houses such as Reliance Group, Jaypee Group, and Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. Currently I am working as a Director in New Delhi based communication, media and government relations consultancy MEDIAKRAFT. I joined Reliance Group in January, 2015 as the Group Spokesperson and Senior Executive Vice President. It is among the top few business houses in India having interests in power generation, transmission and distribution, cement, metro systems, defence, telecomm and financial services. Prior to this, I was working as a Senior Vice President and Group Head, Corporate Communications with Jaypee Group - a diversified industrial house having substantial presence in the following sectors: Cement, Power, Engineering and Construction, Real Estate, Expressways, Hospitality, Sports and Education. Before Jaypee, I had worked with Jindal Steel and Power Ltd, Delhi and Ispat Industries Ltd, Mumbai in a similar role. I have also handled several mega events that required large scale media interaction and promotional activities. These include F1 Indian Grand Prix races, promotion of real estate projects, and Jaypee Punjab Warriors (JPW), a field hockey team comprising high profile national and international players. I have visited large parts of the globe, both for work and leisure, and have keen interest in reading, music, and sports. The attached CV gives details of the work I have handled and my coordinates.
