I launched my teaching career in New Zealand after completing my Graduate Diploma of Teaching at the University of Waikato in 2022. As a passionate educator, I focus on fostering the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young learners through structured, evidence-based approaches.I specialise in structured literacy, with a particular dedication to implementing the Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA) after earning my micro-credential from the University of Canterbury. My teaching philosophy centres on creating clear, structured learning environments that encourage critical thinking, develop literacy skills, and inspire a lifelong love for learning.Building strong, positive relationships with students is at the heart of my practice. I create inviting classroom spaces where children feel safe, valued, and motivated to explore and learn. My commitment to cultural inclusivity and holistic education ensures that every child in my care thrives.In addition, I integrate restorative practices into my professional practice to address and support the diverse needs of students. This approach not only helps in managing classroom behaviour but also fosters a sense of community, empathy, and mutual respect among students. By focusing on restorative practices, I aim to create an environment where students learn to take responsibility for their actions and develop positive interpersonal skills.With a global perspective and adaptability, I am eager to contribute my experience and passion for education in diverse and international settings. I am confident in my ability to engage with diverse student populations, collaborate with colleagues from various cultural backgrounds, and make a meaningful impact on any school community.
