At Paragon UK, I moved from a multi-client support environment into a dedicated internal IT department, bringing over two years of Wintel experience with Paragon to a newly formed team. Leveraging my background, I naturally took on greater responsibility by supporting team development, driving technical initiatives and helping to establish best practices within the Wintel function. Responsibilities Include- Act as a senior technical resource providing advanced 3rd line support for Windows Server OS environments and core IT infrastructure operations- Manage and maintain both physical and virtual servers, delivering proactive support for infrastructure components including VMware vCenter, Citrix, SecureEnvoy, Active Directory, and Endpoint Central- Lead the creation and deployment of a Base Windows 11 VM Template to standardize and accelerate virtual machine provisioning- Drive remediation of security vulnerabilities by reviewing asset vulnerabilities, identifying fixes, planning deployment strategies, and coordinating with application owners and site directors to schedule maintenance with minimal impact- Prepare and present remediation plans and change requests at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, securing necessary approvals and aligning stakeholders- Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, and application issues using a broad range of monitoring and diagnostic tools- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot incidents and implement improvements, ensuring service reliability and security compliance- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and act as an escalation point for critical technical issues.
