As an cloud engineer, I manage one of the biggest SAAS product of Aptean i.e. RossERP.My day to day activities are : 1. Monitoring infrastructure and services availability with NewRelic (previously we used Nagios) monitoring tool which helps in early detection of service/server down, low memory/disk space which helps in minimising unplanned downtime.2. Deploying Production and test code changes for different customers 3. Migrating MS SQL database to PAAS based Azure SQL.4. Refreshing database within different environment.5. Deploying Azure fileshare, whitelisting customer IPs and creating VPN tunnel.6. Triage collab request and incidents from the customers in Azure DevOps board.7. Maintaining availability of the facilities within the application and make sure everything works as expected.8. Going on calls with the customers to fix issues related to backend server side.9. Collaborating with different teams to meet the common goals of application running smoothly.10. Analysing the root causes of any service down.11. Applying patch updates to the servers to keep it latest and greatest.12. Creating documentation of the product and providing knowledge transfer sessions to the newer team members.
