I am assigned representative of the lead agency from the Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Indian Services, Division of Workforce Development. I serve as a Workforce Development Specialist and Awarding Official Technical Representative. I am responsible for all aspects of the Public Law 102-477 Act and the consultation process with Pub. L. 102-477 Tribal Workgroup. My primary duties and responsibilities are in developing and monitoring 477 Tribal Plans which include but not limited to planning, formation, presentation, reconciling and reporting. I am also tasked to assist Federally Recognized tribes on developing, planning, and implementing overall employment assistance policies for the Bureau and Alaska Native Tribes. The Division of Workforce Development mission is to serve tribal communities under the leadership of tribes, through Self Determination Pub. L. 96-638 and Office of Self Governance. As a specialist, I assist tribes build their own capacity to provide education, training, leadership, employment and self sufficiency opportunities for families with respect to their native values, tradition and lifestyles. I also provide mentorship and technical assistance to 477 tribes on annual reporting, new director training, financial & case management training, economic development and grand award justification/compliance/amendment processes and financial audit compliance. As a DWD Specialist, I also assist the Awarding Official with contract amendments of all 477 Plans assigned. I am responsible for maintaining contract files for each tribe \'s 477 Plan. I am responsible for scheduling and conduction 477 Program Reviews every three years to ensure tribal management systems compliance, tribal financial policies and procedures, tribal records and files are in place and Pub. L. 102-477 Program Federal grant compliance.
