ABOUT ANN RILEY HUBER
My name is Ann Riley Huber, and I am a current senior Strategic Communication major and Entrepreneurship minor at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. As a captain of the W&L Women’s Soccer team, practice, travel and gamedays take up most of my time, but sports have led me to what I’m most passionate about: leadership. I’ve honed in on my leadership skills through diverse experiences as a passionate advocate for positive change in my work, school, athletic and social life. From participating in the Generals Leadership Academy, a program for select student-athletes aiming to develop empowerment and communication skills through monthly sessions, to spearheading student ambassador roles for mental health awareness and healthy relationships, I’ve cultivated a strong foundation in fostering inclusive teams, supporting individuals and driving impactful initiatives. Whether it’s guiding fellow students academically through my peer tutoring role, or spearheading workshops on crucial topics, I’m driven by the desire to inspire others and build a more connected community. My experiences have instilled in me the importance of clear communication, collaboration and a commitment to making a difference, wherever that may be. I’m excited to further leverage these skills and continue my leadership journey come graduation, May 2025.
