As a Recruitment Specialist for the Chicago Public Schools Teacher Residency Program, I am passionate about connecting highly skilled and diverse individuals with a commitment to making a meaningful impact in underserved communities. Here’s what I am doing: • Recruit highly skilled and diverse candidates who reflect the vibrant student population we serve. • Championing a “Grow Your Own” approach, focusing on current CPS paraprofessionals, community members, and individuals deeply connected to Chicago. • Cultivating a strong local presence through event engagement, presentations, and nurturing relationships with community organizations and publications. • Navigating inquiries about program structure and requirements, offering vital support via phone and email. • Collaborating with the Residency Operations Team to plan and execute informative events, ensuring candidates and stakeholders grasp the essence of our Residency Program. • Rigorously selecting residents based on academic eligibility, cultural competence, and their commitment to serving CPS students and communities. • Providing personalized recruitment support, guiding candidates through the application process. • Leveraging data to fine-tune our marketing and recruitment strategies. • Redesigned recruitment brochures and leading our social media initiatives for the residency program. • Currently building an internal Google site to empower our residents. • Managing university partnerships across recruitment tracks, including arts (theatre and dance), STEM (science and math), and NEIU-fantastico.
