During the spring term I visit the MSc Medical Art students as a guest lecturer to give a presentation on the industry of medical illustration and animation, how to find jobs and tips of becoming a freelance medical illustrator. This is followed by a social media workshop on self promotion where we focus on setting the students up with a social media account to help them begin to grow their online presence.

ABOUT ANNIE CAMPBELL
Annie is an award-winning medical illustrator and animator. She currently runs Now Medical Studios with her business partner Emily Holden. NMS is a place full of tech-savvy animators and designers all with a Masters degree in scientific communication. After finishing her undergraduate in Neuroscience, at the University of Glasgow, she obtained her Master’s in Biomedical Visualization at the University of Chicago, at Illinois. Her experiences as an art director, project manager and multimedia artist for various studios and companies has provided her with a broad range of skills and expertise that she now brings to every project. Annie firmly believes in life long learning and sharing. One of her passions is sharing the world of medical illustration with others. As part of this endeavor she co-founded the learning channel SciArtNow, guest lectures for the Medical Art programs at the University of Dundee and Liverpool University. Annie also volunteers her time to do some social media and blog organization for the Journal of Visual Communication in Medicine.
