The committee is responsible for the UK input into ISO/TC 207, ISO/PC 343, ISO/TC 308, ISO/TC 287, and ISO/PC25. It also coordinates horizontal activities related to sustainability and social value across national, European, and international committees and is responsible for the input into national products and initiatives in the field sustainability and social value management matters including climate change.

ABOUT ANNE-MARIE WARRIS

An experienced chair and facilitator and a leading expert in sustainable, climate change and environmental issues as well as conformity assessment toolbox. Anne-Marie presented the Royal Academy of Engineering invited lecture on ‘A low carbon world – is it realistic?’ in April 2010 and was voted in early 2020 the sixth most influential woman in shipping at Her current focus is supporting standard development and tools in the conformity assessment area and chairing BSI committee on conformity assessment standards and representing BSI at CASCO, and chairing BSI committee on Environmental Management. She is looking for her next challenges. She is supporting BSI Environmental Committees at national and European level. She was one of the drivers behind the ‘Sustainable Shipping Initiative’.Her external 360 evaluation concluded that she is an enthusiastic, energetic and committed individual prepared to go the extra mile, with a strong client focus. Her strengths include imagination, capacity to innovate, driving delivery while engaging with, supporting and motivating people. Recognition for her work includes being awarded BSI International Standards Maker Award in 2015 for her standard work. being voted on to the top ten on the inaugural Environmentalist power list by readers of The Environmentalist in July 2014 and voted ‘Outstanding contributor to ship efficiency’ by her peers in the shipping industry at the Ship Efficiency Award 2014. In 2013 she was awarded Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association UK (WISTA UK) Personality of Year. A chartered engineer, chartered environmentalist and a fellow of Royal Society for the encouragement of art, manufacture and commerce, Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, Energy Institute and Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals
