ABOUT ANNA SELWOOD

I share responsibility for supporting students and graduates of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. I am the Careers & Employability Service lead for the following subject areas: Social Policy, Government & Public Policy, Humanities, BA Education and postgraduate taught courses in the Centre for Lifelong Learning. This means I am responsible for developing, and delivering, career education across all year groups and for providing 1:1 career guidance to students and graduates. I work closely with academic colleagues as a consultant and a collaborator and have forged strong relationships across the institution. Within the Faculty I attend, and contribute to, Faculty Academic Committee and Faculty Learning Enhancement Committee and meet monthly with the Vice Dean Academic and Associate Deans to discuss employability matters. I sit on the Careers & Employability Working Group and the Student experience EDI Committee. I am also a core member of the Careers & Employability Service management team and have an active role in shaping service delivery and strategy. My role also involves leading/collaborating on university-wide projects on behalf of the Careers & Employability Service. I am the lead contact within our Team for disability & wellbeing. I am passionate about developing my knowledge and understanding so I can better support students and graduates with a disability or long-term health problems to approach their career development and recruitment processes with confidence.
