ABOUT ANDREW SILVERMAN

I am currently making a wholesale switch of career into the world of backstage stagehand work with a desired focus on electrics (lighting) and console programming/operation.My 30+ year technical program management career at Microsoft covered a wide variety of software and hardware products. I am extremely adept at absorbing new technical knowledge and I’m a relentless learner. I\'ve been through countless full product cycles from inception and specification through development, validation, delivery, and sustained engineering. In my final role prior to retirement I worked on development of a security-related ASIC for Microsoft Azure to further improve the confidentiality of our users’ data storage, and separately the evolution of very-high-speed networks and protocols for AI.In previous roles, I helped design and deploy disaggregated FPGA products for AI training and inference in Azure, software integration for foldable devices in the Surface product line, and before that I was an architect in Microsoft’s Devices division within Manufacturing Test Engineering with a portfolio focused on the Surface line of tablet computers and accessories. This gets us back to about 2011.Starting way back at the other end of my career (1991) other projects that I contributed to include (chronologically): MS-DOS 5.0, Windows 95 (plug & play subsystem, power management features), Microsoft Flight Simulator(s) from 19••••02, Xbox Bloodwake, Windows Media Player 10 & 11, Windows Vista, Microsoft Zune, and Bing\'s back end search services for smartphones.
