Scottish Enterprise is the government\'s economic development agency for Scotland. Worth over £3bn, Life Sciences is one of the key growth sectors of the Scottish economy.I have had responsibility for developing and managing a number of large-scale programmes, including Edinburgh BioQuarter - which is becoming one of the world\'s top locations for biomedical R&D; and a programme for developing a stem cell/regenerative medicine industry in Scotland. Some elements of this programme include the new £59m Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine (based at the BioQuarter), the Scottish Stem Cell Network, and a Stem Cell Translational Fund.
