ABOUT JOHN MACLENNAN
Currently, I support projects, directly and indirectly, to progress their technical and commercial milestones to create new, high-growth companies based in Scotland, with the potential and capability to grow to companies of scale and generate significant economic impact in Scotland. I have 20 years’ experience in economic development supporting Scottish businesses. As project manager with Scottish Enterprise in the High Growth Company Creation (spin outs) team I support the commercialisation of university innovation. Previously with SE I have developed and delivered executive education programmes such as SCALE summer school (with MIT), Principally Women and Grey Matters. I have recently completed a 18 month secondment with Construction Scotland Innovation Centre as an Innovation Manager. I have proven project management and communication skills in delivering the strategic Aberdeen Science Parks JV, new AECC development and the Aberdeen Harbour expansion where I lead the business case and successfully secured public sector capital investment.
