I am a founding attorney at Xsensus and electrical patent attorney. After a lengthy tenure at a more traditional law firm the Xsensus team realized that a different approach was necessary to better serve our clients. Xsensus is designed to avoid the trappings of traditional law firms by utilizing the latest technology, prioritizing collaboration and investing in direct relationships, with clients and the United States Patent and Trademark Office, while leveraging years of professional experience. I have prior experience as a satellite communications systems engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton where I helped developed communication protocols and technologies for the Dept. of Defense. I also served as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO specializing in the wireless communication technologies and protocols. I draw upon this unique wealth of practical engineering and patent experience in my role as patent counsel to some of the world’s leading innovators.I work with large consumer electronics companies to small, start-ups, all of which rely upon strong patents to maintain market share and to drive business growth. My business-driven approach to application drafting captures the essence of the innovation, but, more importantly, claims its business value. I usher these emerging technologies through the USPTO with compact patent prosecution practices, which frequently include accelerated prosecution methods, grouping of related technologies, and personal meetings with patent examiners. I frequently conduct face-to-face interviews with Examiners and appear before the PTAB. Leveraging engineering experience with my hands-on experience with the USPTO examination practices, I cost effectively tailor high-value patent portfolios for my clients.
