ABOUT ANDREW GOLOV

I am a production executive who has worked with world-renowned directors (Steve McQueen, Steven Soderbergh, Jon Favreau, Roman Polanski) on films across genres and budgets, including Best Picture Oscar winner, 12 Years a Slave. I take total responsibility for a film from green-lit script to final delivery, consistently delivering projects on budget and schedule. I draw from deep experience to identify the unique issues of a project, and then develop tailored solutions. Whether it’s a turnaround or a new venture, I’m energized by doing what hasn’t been done before. As EVP of Production at Artisan Entertainment, I created the Production/Post Production Depts. and revamped Asset Mgmt./Delivery Services. I developed policy and procedure while delivering three to five films per year. Thirty plus employees reported to me. As President, I transformed the former Motown West Sound from bankruptcy to the highly profitable Signet Sound. Renegotiated equipment leases, post supervised film and TV projects, deals with other post vendors created additional cash flow beyond studio capability. In fifteen months, the company went from losing $250K per year to profits of $1m after taxes. From my start as a network secretary, to achieving membership as a DGA director, and ultimately supervising domestic and global projects, I’ve maintained a sense of wonder and pleasure in the teamwork required to birth the final product. My confident, patient leadership style is rooted in my experience in acting, producing, directing for theatre, writing, production and post-production. I hold empathy for the key stakeholders of the process and an understanding of what’s expected of each of them to deliver a final product. My career has spanned the transition from analog to digital. I value the time-tested fundamentals of the production process while embracing the adoption of new technology. I bridge the two worlds for colleagues from both generations.
