ABOUT ANDRE GIRARD

Andre is an Embedded Design Engineer, with French and Canadian experience (dual citizenship).He has done his Bachelor\'s studies in France at the ESEO between 2003 and 2007, where he studied both Electrical and Computer Engineering. His curiosity pushed him to do an incredible internship at the Vision and Image lab of the University of Toronto, where he worked with a Master\'s student in the analysis and the representation of segmentation data pertaining to Cardiac MRI.This experience led him to specialized in Telecommunications and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) in 2007, and to continue in a Master\'s degree in Quebec, where he had the chance to join the amazing audio and speech processing lab of the University of Sherbrooke, the GRPA. This lab is famous for its patent on the ACELP voice compression technology. He worked between 2008 and 2009 on the development of a speech enhancement/noise reduction algorithm dedicated to mobile technology, which allowed him to gain expertise on Digital Signal Processing, including algorithm development, time and frequency domain analysis, filters, etc.Andre currently works at L3Harris as an Embedded Design Engineer. With over ten years of experience working on FPGA SoC designs as an FPGA designer (Xilinx), mixed with 4+ years of Software design experience (ARM/NVIDIA), Andre gained significant exposure to the full cycle of embedded design, from RTL synthesis to implementation and timing closure on the FPGA side, to the programming of firmware drivers and video processing applications on the software side.Specialties: FPGA/RTL design (Xilinx), Software design (ARM,NVIDIA), VHDL, Video Processing, MATLAB, C/C++, assembler, CUDA.
