ABOUT ANA PONCE

As CEO of GPSN since 2019, I lead efforts to ensure Los Angeles’ public school system prepares every student for academic achievement and lifelong success. My work is driven by a deep belief in equity and the transformative power of education.Before joining GPSN, I served as CEO of Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, a network of schools serving more than 3,600 students in central Los Angeles. In 2011, Forbes Magazine recognized me as one of the world’s seven most powerful educators—a reflection of the collective work of our dedicated educators and families.Beyond my executive roles, I actively serve on national and local boards that advance Latino advocacy, inclusive leadership, charter school excellence, and educational innovation. These include UnidosUS, EdLoC, Brentwood School, Advanced Education Research & Development Fund, Catholic Education Council of Los Angeles, CCSA, and NAPCS.The youngest daughter of Mexican immigrants and the first in my family to graduate from college, I carry my lived experience into my work as both a responsibility and a source of strength. I hold degrees from Middlebury College, Columbia University, UCLA, and Loyola Marymount University.
