ABOUT ALASTAIR MACDONALD

I am an experienced business manager and leader with over 24 years experience in the UK environmental sector. I have specialist technical knowledge and expertise in the field of environmental and sustainability assessments, particularly in relation to major infrastructure projects, including detailed knowledge of the Development Consent Order (DCO) process. I am experienced in building up new business units and organically growing existing teams. I am also an experienced and respected manager with good communication skills, a calm demeanour and strong mentoring abilities.My current role is Market Director with Kent. In this role I am responsible for the overall leadership and management of the UK Environmental Team in Kent. I work closely with our Engineering and Consultancy teams to deliver holistic project support to our energy clients.In my previous role with Arcadis I was responsible for the development and leadership of Arcadis\' growth in environmental and sustainability services to key sectors including, energy transition, power transmission, nuclear, and defence. I also act as Project Director on key infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery targets are met or exceeded.In my previous role I was Divisional Director with Jacobs, providing strategic and technical leadership across a number of projects and services. I worked with various key clients in the energy and nuclear sectors providing strategic and project level support and advice. Within Jacobs I led large multi-disciplinary teams as well as maintained key client relationships and undertook business development activities.
