ABOUT AMIEL DROR

I am an otolaryngologist with a PhD in the genetics of deafness, working at the intersection of clinical care, research, and education. My clinical focus is on hearing loss and ear surgery, with experience as an ear surgeon at Galilee Medical Center and as a current fellow in otology and neurotology. My research examines the molecular basis of inherited hearing loss, and I believe that while cochlear implantation remains the mainstay treatment for most genetic forms of deafness, gene therapy holds promising potential for specific conditions in the years ahead. As a Senior Lecturer at Bar-Ilan University, I’ve had the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and MD/PhD trainees, emphasizing the integration of surgical practice with translational research. I’m also a member of the Israeli National Young Academy of Science in Medicine, and I welcome collaboration with others working to advance patient care through science and education.
