o BESS subject matter expert: deep understanding of BESS technologies, provides technical BESS product evaluation and recommendation, engages with battery vendors and system integrators, educates internal teams on BESS operation and capabilities.o Develops storage product technical specifications and project specificationso Responsible for engineering inputs to projects across the grid scale BESS project development cycle: early-stage design, sizing, optimization, vendor technical evaluation, design package review with suppliers and EPC, controls, final design reviews, and commissioning and completion.o Coordinates closely with civil, structural, high-voltage electrical, SCADA/telecommunications, water, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete Issue For Construction design packages for BESS projects. o Project design experience adhering to National Electrical Code, codes and standards, NFPA and UL standards. o Develops internal tools for project sizing, aux load estimates, degradation analysis, thermal analysis, capacity testing, site layouts, augmentation analysis.o Provides technical support including Requests for Information (RFIs), energy storage PPA negotiations, RFP response package and project proposals, LCOS.
