As I counselor at Leadership Public Schools Hayward, I support students by managing a caseload of approximately 300 - including 70 seniors and approximately 200 underclassmen. Guiding them through academic, social, and emotional challenges, and maintaining up to date records on each student. Occasionally I also work on supporting alumni with college-related needs, such as FAFSA applications, degree evaluation, course selection, and more. I also support with facilitating programing both individually and in groups that support students in identifying passions and goals, as well as guiding them to create plans of action that include: college, internships, summer programs, certificate programs, and more. At LPS Hayward counselors also support groups of students as they navigate the application and matriculation process for colleges, jobs, scholarships and more. This includes transcript evaluations, academic progress, applications, course selection, degree evaluation, and more. Counselors at LPS Hayward also collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and other support staff to provide resources for students in need.
