ABOUT CHLOE I. DECKER
I am Chloe Decker, a graduate student in Social Welfare (MSW \'27) at UC Berkeley with a passion for supporting children, youth, and families through school-based, mental health, and community systems. My interests center on child and adolescent mental health, family advocacy, and increasing equitable access to care.My background includes extensive experience in educational settings. In these settings, I learned the importance of building trust with students by understanding their unique backgrounds, learning styles, and emotional needs. These experiences, along with my work as a Wellness Counselor in underserved middle and high school communities, have strengthened my skills in psychosocial assessment, suicide risk assessment, motivational interviewing, and interdisciplinary collaboration. As a former UC Berkeley Division I track and field athlete, I bring a strong foundation in teamwork, discipline, and mentorship. I am motivated by opportunities that allow me to advocate for children and families navigating complex systems and to ensure they feel supported rather than alone.
