Hello everyone! My name is Alexya Martinez and I am a second-year graduate student at the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Relations. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Media Production with a minor in Psychology from the University of Houston, where I built a foundation in broadcast television, audience-focused messaging, and strategic communication.Professionally, I’ve gained hands-on experience across media, digital marketing, and corporate communications. My previous roles include Digital Marketing Intern at DigitalChalk, Studio Intern at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and Digital Media Intern at FOX 26 Houston. I’m currently a Marketing Communications Intern at Tenaris, a global manufacturer and supplier of steel pipes and related services for the oil and gas industry, where I support the global marketing communications team through content development, social media management, and executing campaigns.As a proud Latina, I am passionate about making meaningful contributions to the field.
