ABOUT ALEXANDROS KOKKOSIS
Alexandros Kokkosis is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Velocigene Human Systems group at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. He received his B.Sc. in Biology (2012) and his M.Sc. in Biological Technology (2015) from the University of Patras in Greece and his Ph.D. in Molecular & Cellular Pharmacology from Stony Brook University, New York in 2021. Alexandros’ current research focuses on exploring the molecular underpinnings of cognitive aging as well as investigating the therapeutic potential of memory enhancing mechanisms in preventing or ameliorating age-related memory decline. Alexandros has 10+ years of research experience (in both an academic and biotech environment) in the fields of neuroscience, neuroimmunology, pharmacology and cognitive science. Proficient in a variety of molecular and cellular techniques in animal and in vitro models, surgical procedures, behavioral testing, and microscopy and has extensive research expertise on glial biology in the brain homeostasis and disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, neuroglial interactions, and neuroinflammatory responses in the CNS. Significant project management experience of collaborative projects in an industrial and clinical environment, with an Advanced Certificate in Biomedical and Clinical research (SBMS, Stony Brook University 2019).
